Turnaround Time: 2-7 days
Special Handling: 1. Perform lumbar puncture and discard the first 1 to 2 mL of CSF. 2. Collect 2 mL of CSF DIRECTLY into CSF AD Biomarker Tube (Mayo T833). Do not aliquot. **Failure to adhere to these instructions may result in falsely low Abeta42 due to its binding to the surface of the tube. **Patient should refrain from ingesting multivitamins or dietary supplements containing biotin (Vitamin B7) for at least 12 hours prior to testing. **Transport Temperature: Frozen. Specimen Stability - Frozen (preferred): 30 days; Refrigerated: 14 days; Ambient: 12 hours.
