Special Handling: Test must be set up within 6 hours of collection, if left unrefrigerated. If transport will be delayed, place specimen on ice immediately after collection. Do Not freeze. Refrigerated specimens can be stored up to 24 hours.

Causes For Rejection: Clotted specimen, >6 hours at room temperature, >24 hours refrigerated. Specimens < 1 mL pipettable sample; moderate to marked hemolysis; heparin or potassium oxalate anticoagulants. Test cannot be performed on EDTA Microtainers. Blood collected in a 6 mL EDTA tube.
