Special Handling: Plasma: Within 1 hour of collection, centrifuge tube to obtain platelet-poor plasma. The plasma is transferred to a plastic tube to be spun a second time to remove the platelet and obtain platelet-free plasma. Aliquot platelet-free plasma into plastic tubes (2 aliquots). Freeze immediately. CRITICAL FROZEN. Serum (add-ons): Separate serum and freeze. Label tube "Serum".
