Note: This is a Sendout/Referred Test and is only offered to registered patients of SHC or LPCH. This assay is sensitive (96%) and specific (99%) for S. mansoni. Although specific for infections caused by other Schistosoma species (S. japonicum, S. haematobium, S. mekongi), sensitivity for these infections is low (55%). Antibody levels do not correlate with intensity of infection.
