Methodology: Molecular methods including RNA extraction, reverse transcription, PCR amplification (integrase region), DNA purification and dideoxynucleotide terminator cycle sequencing. Drug resistance associated mutations are reported with physician interpretation for all approved anti-retroviral drugs that target the HIV integrase enzyme. Phylogenetic analysis and subtype are also included in the analysis.

Special Handling: Centrifuge within 6 hours of collection and transfer plasma to a screw-capped tube. Transport refrigerated. If transport is greater than 3 days, transport frozen.
