General Information:

Peripheral blood can be used as a substitute for a bone marrow aspirate when one cannot be obtained and circulating blasts are present.

Indications:

Diagnosis of leukemia, lymphoma or other hematological disorder

Suspected relapse/progression of disease
Following treatment for a suspected hematological condition
Status post bone marrow transplant to assess for recurrent disease or secondary disease or to determine engraftment status
