| General Information: |
High resolution analysis is a special manipulation of the routine stimulated blood procedure designed to provide, at harvest, a large number of mitotic figures in late prophase or prometaphase. At this stage of mitosis the chromosomes are longer and less condensed. The goal, when G-banded, is that these chromosomes be at or above the 550 band level or greater, showing finer chromosomal detail than on routine blood chromosome analysis. |
