Diagnosis and monitoring of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection use serologic assays which detect hepatits B surface antigen (HBsAg), specific antibodies against HBsAg (anti-HBs) and hepatitis B core antigen (anti-HBc). Molecular assays detect HBV DNA. |
| Indications: |
Quantification of HBV DNA in serum of patients with chronic HBV infection (HBsAg-positive) and for confirmatory testing for chronic HBV infection. To monitor progression of chronic HBV infection and/or response to anti-HBV therapy. |
