HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS (HSV) PCR, CSF

Test Code: HSVPCR
Description: This test by PCR has been shown to be the most reliable method for direct detection of HSV in CSF. The virus is rarely isolated from CSF.
Indications: Diagnosis of HSV infections of the central nervous system (CSF).
