A comprehensive immunophenotyping panel is tailored to each patient’s suspected diagnosis based on clinical and morphologic findings, and the results are interpreted by a hematopathologist. Our standard antibody reagent combinations use four fluorochrome-labelled antibodies and are analyzed using CD45/SSC gating, assisted by other gating strategies when appropriate. Cases are analyzed to address the question of whether an abnormal population is present or not. If so, the morphologic and immunophenotypic features are described, and a diagnostic interpretation is given, with recommendations for further evaluation if appropriate. |
