PML-RAR TRANSLOCATION. 98% of acute promyelocytic leukemias (APL – M3) carry the t(15;17) translocation. Patients with APL must be identified early, since they are at risk of life-threatening coagulopathy and the therapy differs from other acute leukemias. The t(15;17) translocation is identified and monitored in the laboratory by quantitative RT-PCR. |
