Effective August 1, 2008, Stanford Hospital & Clinics completed the sale of its basic clinical outreach laboratory business to Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp). This sale includes the routine clinical lab business, most of the patient services centers, and the rush lab facilities

Stanford Clinical Laboratories will now perform basic laboratory testing only for Stanford Hospital & Clinics (SHC) and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH) patients. Basic testing for non-SHC and non-LPCH patients will not be performed by Stanford Laboratories. 

We will continue to offer and expand a full spectrum of adult and pediatric diagnostic pathology services for both our hospital patients as well as the community, including those for:

• Dermatopathology
• General Surgical Pathology
• Hematopathology
• Neuropathology
• Renal Pathology

In esoteric testing, we will continue to offer and expand to our existing clients such testing as:

• Cytogenetics
• Flow Cytometry
• Molecular Diagnostics
• Related Esoteric Testing

We are committed to continue to provide high quality, timely service to our anatomic pathology, hematopathology and esoteric testing referral clients.
